Company

sunsetAshevilleBig Boom Design takes a collaborative approach with its clients. We want to have a clear understanding of your needs in the beginning and work with you throughout the build process so we can offer you the best solutions available on the internet. Planning, Designing, Building, Launching and Tracking a website is not an easy job, but we break down our system in such a way that communication on both ends can flow clearly effectively. This way, together we can build an amazing website that highly appeals to your target audience and more importantly, Google.

Big Boom Design loves to educate our clients about the build-process, how to manage their website, and the benefits of social media and effective search engine optimization. If you choose to use our services, Big Boom Design teaches a monthly class so you can shape your own skill set. (Check out the Bridging the Digital Divide class page here).
Big Boom Design gets the job done with our team of capable computer geeks. (They are pretty hilarious if you decide to stop by the office.) Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, we are located on the Enka-AB-Tech campus, in the Small Business Incubator; it’s really beautiful out here. Our office environment is friendly and smells like coffee grinds and white board cleaner.

The days are broken up by periodic “geek outs” and “your mom jokes”, all in good taste of course, which helps keep the mood lively and productive. Drop by anytime and we’ll make you feel right at home.

Boomer Sassmann: Internet Consultant and Industrial Designer

BoomerWithChicken-200x300For over a decade, Boomer has built innovative, straightforward, and striking websites that combine the ideal mix of form and function. Before the days of Google (that’s the mid 90’s people), Boomer became fascinated with computers and technology and immediately recognized that his passion for the internet would lead him towards an undeniable skill set. Even more so, he became increasingly infatuated at the rate in which the internet was shaping our culture and the way we conduct business on a day to day basis.

In December of 2007 Boomer founded Big Boom Design and headed down the path of sleepless nights and self employment towards the grater good. Just over three years later, Big Boom Design consists of a five person staff and client base that stretches from Western North Carolina up to Canada and across to Washing State. We have large coverage in Asheville, Boone and Franklin North Carolina with a client base of around 300 amazing businesses that grows every day.

The idea that the “everyday-person” could have their own platform and voice on the internet excited Boomer, and encouraged his entrepreneurial spirit to extend this service to others. Boomer is kind of an Internet history nerd…and therefore is able to educate the client while at the same time building effective websites—no matter how complex of site or how unusual the client’s needs are.

(We know because we track them and have long last relationships with our clients.)

A graduate from Appalachian State University, with a degree in Industrial Design, Boomer is in his third year of running Big Boom Design and loving every minute of it. On the weekends you can find him tinkering on some type of automotive project or enjoying the beautiful view of the mountains at his home in Candler, NC. He loves to talk about the internet and always welcomes the chance to brainstorm over a local Asheville brew or tasty cup of coffee.  Give him a shout… he’d love to hear from you at 828-545-3748.
